About Jams Yau

Jams Yau is a passionate and experienced Art Therapist with a strong academic foundation in fine arts and creative psychotherapy. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT University and a Master of Art Therapy from Western Sydney University, Jams integrates artistic practice with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support emotional wellbeing and psychological growth.

With over 5 years of local clinical experience, Jams works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting clients to express emotions, develop effective coping strategies, and build self-confidence through creative processes. Jams’ therapeutic approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and developmentally sensitive, ensuring each individual’s needs and strengths are respected.

Jams holds a deep belief in art as a powerful and transformative therapeutic tool and is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering space where individuals can explore their inner experiences and work towards meaningful personal growth.

Online Professional Development (2025)

Jams undertook targeted online professional development to strengthen evidence-informed practice in trauma care, PTSD assessment and treatment planning, and child and family mental health. Training was completed through ANZACATA, Phoenix Australia, Emerging Minds Learning, and the Black Dog Institute.
