We provide comprehensive assessments and ongoing therapy sessions tailored to meet the needs of individuals with diverse challenges, including Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and sensory processing difficulties.

1. Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)

What is an FCA?
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a detailed evaluation conducted by an occupational therapist to assess an individual’s strengths, challenges, and support needs. It plays a crucial role in NDIS planning, helping individuals and their families:
✔ Understand their support needs
✔ Make informed decisions about plan spending
✔ Prepare for life transitions
✔ Optimize NDIS plan utilization for better outcomes

What does an FCA include?

  • Standardized assessments and clinical observations

  • Analysis of daily living skills, mobility, and cognitive abilities

  • Tailored recommendations for therapy, equipment, and support services

FCA assessments are typically funded by the NDIS, and pricing depends on the complexity of the evaluation.

2. Initial OT Assessment

Before beginning therapy, we conduct a comprehensive Initial OT Assessment to:
✔ Understand the client’s needs, preferences, and goals
✔ Use standardized assessments, clinical observations, and interviews to gather in-depth information
✔ Develop a personalized therapy plan tailored to the individual

This assessment provides the foundation for ongoing therapy sessions and ensures a targeted approach to intervention.

3. Ongoing OT Sessions

Following the Initial OT Assessment, we provide regular OT sessions focusing on:
✔ Evidence-based interventions to address specific challenges
✔ Therapeutic activities to improve daily function and independence
✔ Skill-building exercises for sensory, motor, and cognitive development

These sessions adapt to the client’s progress and are structured to:

  • Promote functional independence in daily living

  • Enhance emotional well-being and self-regulation

  • Support sensory integration for improved engagement in activities

4. Occupational Therapy Goals for Autism

Our comprehensive OT approach supports children with Autism in achieving various functional and developmental milestones, including:

✔ Sensory Processing – Helping children manage sensory sensitivities or sensory-seeking behaviors
✔ Emotional Regulation – Teaching strategies to reduce meltdowns and improve coping skills
✔ Motor Skills Development – Enhancing fine and gross motor abilities for coordination and independence
✔ Social Skills – Encouraging meaningful interactions with peers and adults
✔ Independence – Strengthening self-care skills such as dressing, hygiene, and eating
✔ Communication – Supporting the development of verbal and non-verbal communication
✔ Cognitive Skills – Improving problem-solving, focus, and executive functioning
